haha, you're calling that detector "vintage" ? You're making some of us feel old around here :)

Ok whats the vintage rules pre ground balance and no motion mode to be honest in the back of my head is the scorpian to new to qualify but seeing the garrett scorpian posts dwindle thought it might be a candidate lol,,,,,,,,,CEDAR

There's no set standard (date or age) that qualifies something as a "vintage" metal detector. I was only razzing ya bro.

I guess to each person, "vintage" would be prior to when they started. So for a guy who's 25 yrs. old, then a machine from the 1990s might seem like a dinasour to him!

I started in about 1976. At that time, I saw some guys still using all-metal TR's (compass 77b, Whites 66TR, etc..), and even a few BFO's still on the road at that time. So to me, it's the era of the change-over from all-metal TRs, to the era of VLF/TRs and motion disc. Hence earlier than the mid '70s. So as you can see, it's highly arbitrary to one's own age, and the time they started detecting.

No set date cutoff, I was just razzin ya :)
