finally a day off of work. Sunday i hunted with G4E he scored a few keepers at the park but i was having no luck so we went door knocking. 1st place a few Wheaties then we hit hit an old farm could of spent 3 days in the front and side yard it musta been 3 acres but we only had a few hrs. anyways I scored 2 v nickels 1890 and 1897 then i pulled a 1917 really worn merc. And like G4E says them nickel signals were all over the place well here's the pics

Very nice!!! That's an old Merc. She's been around. I haven't found a V or Shield nickel yet although I have found a 2 center. Weird how it works some times. Congrats on those finds.

Great finds! I love seeing all the neat stuff you find.

I am still waiting on my first shield nickel.

You and Goes4ever find so much at old farmhouses and have me thinking really hard about knocking on doors of some of the old farmhouses around here.

We live in a Colonial area and who knows, maybe I will get lucky at a newer (early 1900's) farmhouse that is situated over a Colonial house site.

tenspeed...thats what my honey hole turned out to be. records showed a house in at least 1868, and the current update on the house was built in 1910, but I found many colonial coins and buttons! research those sites you might be surprised.

Great looking nickels Jim, glad u got some keepers! i promise you that park we were at still has some goodies, it has given me seated coins, several indians, silvers, old nickels including a shield nickel, that placeis far from being hunted out! You just need more patience lol, that park is like 60 acres!

Nice finds Jim! Thanks for the pictures.
