Scored 1897 Barber Dime Today :super:

Hunted a 1868 Church which had an old school house beside it. It happened that I knew the caretaker for the property, so getting permission wasn't a problem. We'd tried to get permission last year, but couldn't connect with anyone to ask. The Barber was found close to one of the still standing privies. I was also told the property was hunted a few months ago

Finds for the day, 7 Memorials, 2 clad dimes, and a clad quarter. Bottom is 1897 Barber Dime, '46D & '39S Wheaties:

:usaflag:Nice dime !! No Barbers for me yet....hopefully soon.

Dang, BudDigger - i'm jealous. I have yet to find one of those. And those wheaties are getting hard to find too.

Thanks! Went out to a local park today, we'd hunted it before. Found about $2.50 in clad, "best" find was a '63 Canadian Penny. Most of the ground (especially the parks) here have had trashy fill spread over them (found Zincolns 6" deep). The park is old, didn't expect to find much...just wanted to get-out for a bit today. I'm hoping the crops (at least the corn) gets harvested early this year (maybe next month) so I can get on some older fields where some old churches & schools once stood.
