Scoops for rocky shorelines?

Any recommendations for the type of scoop to use for shoreline and shallow water that contains mostly smaller stones and rocks? If not any suggestions on what to use to dig with. Thanks
 
............a hip-mounted waterproof Vibra Probe and a garden trowel carried in your back pocket. That should be lighter and faster than a scoop filled with stones.
