Scoop on scoops

What do you do when your arm pit deep and your target falls through your scoop? Do you try to carry the scoop to the beach? Do you carry a smaller slip in screen and use that? Do you use a floating sifter? Do you keep moving?

khouse, Huntress cuts a circle of fine mesh galvanized wire and zip-ties it into the bottom of my scoops. This is very helpful, to recover smaller targets, that would normally fall through the larger holes. Be sure to silicone spray it after rinsing it, with fresh water. Try it! GH

i use a sifter and wouldn't go in the water without it. i spend my time looking for targets in the bottom not my scoop. i haven't had any small targets get lost in quite some time.
as far as passing it by is it a sinker, or gold stud with ice. you tell me.

I just may make me a floating sifter since I'm in fresh water. I also would like to know where you purchased your scoop. My scoop is 5 inches in diameter and I find it's too small.
