I spent about 50 minutes to an hour Monday demonstrating to a friend how the Classic and Matrix M6 can make quick work of the wood chip playgrounds. He's going to get a new detector soon, hopefully by Christmas, as the one he's been using (and his technique) have left a lot behind.

Hobbling around the four wood chip playgrounds for a total of an hour or less produced 12 Quarters, 8 Dimes, 5 Nickels and 39 (darn it!) Pennies. He'd not found them close to the metal structures/pipes due to poor technique and lack of a smaller coil, or out in the 'jump zone.' These were all playgrounds they get detected very often and it's just because school has started up this past few weeks that they are starting to produce again.

Now I just need to hit the 'gold jewelry neighborhoods' to make my day. I hope everyone else is seeing things 'pick up' in their detecting haunts.

Hi Monte,

I agree the school finds are picking up. Regarding the techniques of finding targets near metal structures, are you talking about lowering sensitivity?

By the way, do you have any tips for spotting those 'gold jewelry neighborhoods' you mentioned?

Hope your back is letting you get out more.
