Schooled by Huntress, but found Aladdin's knife?????.....

Went for a spin with Huntress yesterday afternoon. She had requested a day hunt, so I put on the sunscreen and obliged her. We began our quest at around 11AM. Winds were light out of the south and we were hunting into a 217P 0.0L. The 1st surf area was a little thin and ended up with $1.07 clad, ferrous bangle, spiral wrap junker ring and an American flag dog tag.

The 2nd surf area was very interesting. Huntress got POed at me because I found my silver ring shallow. She thinks she OWNS shallow. We had a little pirate looter's discussion about this, but it's all purty much worked out now. Had a couple of glory holes in the mine though and ended up with $4.52 here. Also found a surfer's junker necklace, .925 cartouche ring (the 1 I got in trouble over) and a most unusual knife. It is brass and sheathed and very ornate, like a genie's or Aladdin's knife. Can't tell if it is old, but I would say it is. Any comments would be welcome.

The 3rd surf area was real stinky for me. Only had $1.10 here.

We baled around 8P and we worked hard. She won this battle 5 to 2! I figured out what I was doing wrong though....I was not putting my coil over the rings. I aim to change that here directly! Maybe I'll hunt in the lane like she does.

Nice finds... I think that knife is called a 'kirpan'... it's a ceremonial dagger that's worn by adult male Sikh's.

At least that's what it looks like to me.

humnmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm nice blade for sure, looks like u 2 did some diggin for sure WTG my pirate friend

Flint is Bang On about the Kirpan. I used to play field hockey with a bunch of Sikh guys in my youth, they played a MEAN game and they all carried the kirpan if they had achieved a certain level in their religion. I had thought that Lacrosse was a tough game until I played field hockey with those lads; managed to keep all my teeth though it took a little luck.
Now I know why they all have the last name of Singh which means Lion, Good Guys Too!

Cheers,
