Da Yooper

New member
In the 1930's the first school was built, tore down in 1970 and a new one was built. Now next to the new school where the play ground was,a new building is going to be put up which means the play ground is going to be dug up.I put in a good 6hrs. MD'ing already and I'll put in a few more when thay start digging. As of right now I dug up 122 pennies, 7 nickels, 35 dimes, 25 quarters and 1 great britt penney(1914). No silver or any wheaties. 189 coins street value $11.32

Pound that site hard, you'll get the silver yet.:detecting:

Hey. I found a 1914 George V penny earlier this year at a local school.

Nice coin total. 6 hours is longer than I can go. 30 coins an hour is what I consider to be a great hunt if you are primarily looking for clad. I generally consider 15-20 an hour to be satisfactory for my style of hunting. FWIW.

The yard is full of A size junk. In a 3 foot square you may get 20 hits from A size to E size. Every thing seems to be at about 5 inches . D and E are 10-12 inches thats where I think I'll find the silver.
