School park hits gold!

Nice find .I found one like that returned it to school had persons name inside of it .It was about 20 years old i remember it came in at vid 57 on mxt,was on the way back to car when i ran over it almost left it thought it was junk signal walked about ten feet away and i thought it didn't sound correct went back and dug it up it was down about 3 inches near second base on baseball filed.

BIG congrats on finding the class ring! :clapping: You could contact the University and tell them what you have found. IS there any initials or name in the ring? If so, they could look the person up in their files and give you the info. Do NOT give it to the school! More than likely they will keep it and melt it down such as West Point (Yes, that's what they do) or possibly sell it for scrap.

I found a girl's 1981 high school class ring last month. In fact, I found it at a University and the staff helped me track her down. She had been a student there, got married, etc. Contacted the owner (twice) and she still hasn't gotten back to me with her address so I can mail it to her. Guess she doesn't want it back. I'll keep it in my ring collection in case she changes her mind.

Nice finds all around ribcrusher! You gotta love that MXT!

HH to all,
Nancy

The only marking in the ring are 14k and the manufactures panted number no name or initials. I did look up some info on class of 2004 from UCLA, when you add up the graduation class from just the main school in LA, along with all the satellite campuses is will over 1000. I did list it on a web page for people who have lost there class rings

Well, looks like you've got yourself a nice find. There's not going to be any way of finding the owner via the University. It might be possible to find the owner by posting it on the net here, but I would doubt it seriously.

Boy, you've got that right about finding things right before you get to your vehicle to call it a day. It's happened many times with Larry. That's makes sense when you think about it.

cool find I found one at local volleyball court in the sand had the guys name inside and it was a grad ring for 2010
not even graduated and already lost his ring! made a few phone calls and found his granfather and returned it to him,
it was cool to find it though his was silver.good luck trying to locate the owner.

Excellent score on the nice gold ring for sure! I also found a very large class ring 2 years back in the water but I was using my Beach Hunter I.D. and when I got home the first thing I did was check it with my MXT and it rang out with a 67 VDI reading also, I was very surprised to see a gold item so high on the vdi scale but it was just shy of half an ounce and 10k so I figure the alloy's were the main reason of the high reading.
