School "Bus Stop" Bench..........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
This picture of the old school bus bench was taken yesterday at a small community a few miles north of our home. It was taken in the shade, and I kept it somewhat on the dark side to reflect what it actually looked like. This picture will also reflect the dry conditions in this area. The bench was across from some empty trailer homes. Kelley (Texas) :)

The picture was taken with a Sony NEX-6 camera with a vintage Minolta MD Macro 35-70mm F3.5 lens, with the following settings: F8, 1/160, ISO 100, "Daylight" White Balance, Manual Mode.

I really like the older stuff makes for a great subject . I miss that stuff we don't have much of that stuff here in the city , like we did when I lived in the rural country side .

Good Job

Harold

"Hi there Kelly!".

Thank you for your 'bus stop' bench photo,

Here am I, several thousand miles away from that spot, sitting at the breakfast bar and looking at the forum's photographic's section; Your picture instantly makes me feel as if I'm somewhere else in the USA.....That's the magic of modern technology.

Me being from a technical background, was immediately aware of your diligent inclusion of the data of the camera's settings.

If only the guys on the metal detecting forums would learn the importance of such excellent practices when they discuss their metal detecting episodes.

So, a 'Thank you' is in order, for both the picture and the data.

I really do enjoy such pictures, for they invoke the romance of imagining all the memories of past times when folk waited for he school bus etc.

If only that bench could speak......what stories it could recall...trivial maybe, but special.

Please, if you will; keep posting those evocative scenes of life's background in your locality.

Thanks again, Matt.

p.s. I enjoy taking pictures, but I'm not an 'expert', just an enthusiast.

I will post a couple of local shots a.s.a.p.

I live in the north-western part of England UK.
