schematics for detectors

I would like to learn how metal detectors work. I have an electronics background. Does anyone have schematics of metal detectors?
 
You have a schematic on your washer and TV to allow a repairman to work on. Most metal detector companies will not make available to the public as they want their own tech's to work on them.Good luck finding one...and imagine all work different to an extent...
