Up here on the Gulf Coast, same story. Bust a dollar in 3 hours, your a guru. Heavy rains yesterday, so maybe some success today.
We haven't been hearing anything from the guys down south. Got a buddy here says his brother & sister in law are doing quite well around Miami. At least there's got to be fresh drops.

You certainly know that stretch of sand pretty well by now...:clapping:

Did you try any of those inland bay side beach places like that small HI beach just across the causeway we were talking about last year? Or that other one just across the street by that jet ski rental at the base of the 'pay to fish' bridge?? Thats a lot of empty sand to be flogging day after day..:sadwalk:...theres gotta be at least one place nearby that may pay off big for you thats had some gold traffic and hasnt got hit or sanded in?

You may have to ask around at the local bait shop and perhaps rent a 'ski or a small RIB and go out to an offshore bayside sandbar behind a popular drinking place where the party boats raft up and do some exploring? Hell, maybe even a local crabber or oysterman will run you out to one and pick you back after he checks his pots up for a small fee?

Its easy for me to be an 'armchair advisor' with a foot of snow on the ground! Wish we were there! Good Luck Dancer! Thanks for the post too, its always fun to follow your winter adventures down there!...

We've had some great detecting weather with lots of rain and some cool weather, but just not able to detect. Got out in the yard 10 minutes. yesterday and found a 1964 penny. Wanted to go yesterday and today, but too many errands to run. Met several metal detector folks at the coin show and exchanged information. Only stayed 2 hours, but enjoyed myself. I was running late and forgot the stuff I was going to take, but when I registered, I got a 1936 buffalo nickel. This couple with 4 kids were leaving the show and the man at the registration table asked the kids if they got their coins when their parents signed up at the desk and they had such child like excitement and awe at getting a free coin apiece, it made the entire trip worthwhile. I was talking to the man at the desk about how excited they were and had to confide in him that I was excited about my free coin myself. lol
