Let me start off by saying, I have not posted much on this forum, but have posted some on other forums. I have gleaned a lot of valuable information on this forum just from reading some of the great information, so Thanks. I've been detecting a little over a year now. I usually only have one detector at a time but have bought and sold a couple with some of the vendors from other forums to try and see what I like. Great experiences. I recently bought (or thought i had) a detector ten days ago but have received no information on the detector but obviously my cash is gone. This seemed like it would be a safe transaction since person had been on forum a couple years and had bought and sold items. Lesson learned. I've tried contacting seller several times through email and through their ebay account. Seller stopped communicating as soon as money was sent. I hope I'm wrong but not likely. Seller said they were going to ship 10 days ago and email tracking number. I have gathered some info on seller but will hold back on it for now. Thanks for reading the rant. GL, HH

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.
Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.
Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.
Only Forum Members Registered for 90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

- Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
- Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
- Do not put links to eBay.
- Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
- Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.
Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

I am fine with waiting a couple days (2) usually because sometimes I agree on a deal at night and seller can't ship till the next day and some people work and aren't able to get to post office till after work if they even can. But usually you shouldnt do a deal if you don't get pictures and a clear description ofor the items you are getting and if you use PayPal use the normal method not friends and family unless you really trust the person. The last machine I got the guy sent me a picture of it as he was boxing it up so I knew it was going to be fine.
Agreed on all your points. It wont happen to me again. I made a mistake. Seller had a couple pictures up and answered my questions right away through email. Told me when he would send it out and would have a tracking number. I have no problem someone telling me that they cant get it out for a few days.I will never use Paypal F & F again. Thanks for the info.

But don't send payment till you see the pics. I communicate through email and findmall with buyers and sellers and am fine but if they try to get you to do anything else don't, that's how you get scammed.

I thought something was up when he wouldn't give me a contact #. Was going to offer to pay for the detector the evening of the day that he posted it for sale. Just needed a few hours to get the money together. Sorry that Goondock may have gotten reamed though. Chances were good that I would have done the same as Goondock did.

Yep, scammers are out in force everywhere. These days even what used to be legit can now be a scam you need to keep your guard up and think everything going through.
