Scabbard Throat

New member
I'm thinking this scabbard throat could be from the civil war era! Just can't imagine it being from another period! It is about a inch and a half wide by the same tall. It appears to be brass and it was found in close proximity to a 1853 large cent. I put it on the watzit forum I had a hunch it was part of a sword sheath but I didn't have the vocab or should I say the right definition for the item

hello
I agree with you, but do not know the name, if it does. I would call it "mouth" sword scabbard but from a standpoint of Spanish language, I am translated.
Congrats and greetings
