SB GoMinelabbing event - hints and tips appreciated

Hi all,
First post... total noob here.

I was given a used (gently) Bounty Hunter SharpShooter 2 and have been out a half dozen times, at the beach/volleyball courts in Santa Barbara.

I am signed up for the Go Minelabbing event this weekend.

Any tips on settings on my SS2 or for the event itsself? I cant really find much on how the event is run. I assume that they will have an area staked off and we have a certain amount of time to go detect.

Anyone going to the event? Want to meet up on friday and go looking?
