Fun is over. Have to fly back home. Not as good today cuz money was coming out of ground instead of rings. 2 gold, happy hunting to all.both 18 kt. One has three rings that are looped to make one ring. 7 silver, and 3 junk. Overall, a damn fine way to spend a layover.

I have found those three in one rings in both 14K and in Sterling. They are called Trinity rings.

Can you show us in more detail what the coins are that you found? I was in Japan in 1987 (Yokohama) supporting "Patriot" but I expect much has changed since then.

Sorry Pete, all the change was turned into paper money. The rest left in the room for the maid. I posted sometime earlier about a hunt in Japan and it has a pic of the coins. They are all pretty modern coins, nothing old. Regards, Bill.

Ah yes, the Japanese hotel staff . . . they declared me "skirrafur" because I knew how to wrap a gift. LOL If we could only go back and replay some of these moments with our current knowledge and skills . . .

Good On ya! You always tip the Maid!..:clapping:.

For a time, my Wife was a maid in a local hotel...we were very poor...Then I got a job that had me travel the globe, and she told me strongly that I was to always leave a generous tip to the maid along with a handwritten 'thankyou' note..something most people never think about, and its a tough thankless job for the most part..

Was in Croatia/Yugo/Bosnia back during their war traveling with my boss once...he came into my room one morning and saw the note and the cash for the maid and said, "You dummy! You dont have to do that!" .

I said, "In case you hadnt noticed, theres a war going on here, we are a couple of American businessmen way out in the puckerbrush, everyone in this little town knows we are here, and they all know each other, you know they are talking about us right now ....What if, we both get kidnapped and held for ransom, and to prove they are serious, they are going to kill one of us? Who do you think that will be? The loud ugly American cheapskate or the respectful polite big tipper?"

Same thought process applies when I go to Chicago, since they currently have a war going on, at least If things went down bad, and all order, electricity, and Civilization fell, I could easily steal a boat and make my way home. For that, I will be needing some extra fresh towels, and some extra soap to make the trip more comfortable..the extra breath mints will be welcomed survival gear too....Tip your Maid if you want to live!!

If civilization falls and I have to steal a boat to come home, I'm taking the maid with me! Come to think of it the breath mints might be a welcome addition.
