Saying Hello

Hello everyone,

I thought I would say hello to you all, I just purchased a V3i on eBay (1.5 hours ago) so it will take some time until i receive it. I have been reading through all the posts to get an idea on how to use it but i will have LOTS of questions I am sure. I have been metal detecting for the last month or so, so I am just starting out. I have been using a Titan 2000XD and its pretty good for a playing around detector but not very good for the beach (wet sand) or trying to pinpoint where the object actually is. I am hoping that the V3i will help in that area.

Well, I guess i should get the V3i and start using it before asking the questions so... I will be talking with you all soon.

Welcome Tim! There are many guys with a wealth of knowledge that can get you on your way with the V3i. The best advice I can give is to read the book on it and get out and dig....learn the machine and you will do well. It is a complicated machine, but well worth the learning curve....I am learning that myself as I go.

Welcome Tim, Read all you can, plus see if there's a club near your area were you can get info from other hunters. I even go to youtube and Whites V3i Forum , Good Hunting Don Tyler

Hi Tim,

Saw that you live in Ventua. Our metal detecting club meets in Simi Valley. The club conducts monthly metal detecting classes and some members swing a V3i. The point is hands-on help is nearby if you want it. Check out our website:

Hunt4Fun,

Thanks, I would love to check out the metal detecting club to talk to others that have experience with the V3i, or what ever else they may use for that matter.... Im still looking for good places to go. So far the beach has been ok with the Titan 2000XD that i got a month ago. I got my 2nd gold ring today at a local park, found it at 7 to 8" down in the first 3 minutes there. The remaining 4 to 5 hours I pulled alot of pull tabs :ranting:

I cant wait to start with V3i

Tim

Hi Tim,

Congratulations for finding the gold rings. Next club meeting is tomorrow evening. Hope you can make it.

Bob,

Wish I could make it but I will have to catch the next one. I am going to Idaho on Friday so I'm getting all the stuff ready. I think I will take the V3i that I just got today fore some fun (along with my 45's)

Hi Tim,

Have a safe trip to Idaho ... beautiful state. Hope the weather is good. Winter seems to be hanging on along our northern states.

Good luck and hope to see you next month.
