I just wanted to thank Joe (old Beach Nut) Ron (The horse man and meter man) along with dewcon4414. For all you help in 2014 You not only helped me but I'm sure you helped so many others. I'm sure others can take credit too. That's what makes this Forum the best. We have a bunch of "Sicko's" here but in a good way.
Happy New Yr to all of you and God Bless. Good job Ron you always treat people more then fair with your meter's They work great.

Thank you
Ronnie L

Ronnie, with gas prices low maybe a lot of us can venture out to new hunting grounds this spring.Reminder, take your batteries out of the Sovereign when not in use for the northern hunters.Finds Forum is the best forum for information, very user friendly, and the people are great. Thanks and Hope 2015 is a great year.

Thanks Ronnie, Hoping you have a Safe, Happy, And Blessed 20 15!!

And Thanks Ron for the work you put in on the Excalibur/Sovereign forum here.

I maybe on a few other forums but this is my home, Findmall ..No place like home!

And I love those Gas Prices..

There are people here who put a lot of effort to make this a great forum at Find''s I'm glad to be a small part of it.The Minelab Excal and Sovereign are interesting detectors and have a huge following. The Excal and Sovereign users for the most part are veteran hunters who use logic and reason, which make this forum very easy to moderate. There are a lot of newbies who cut their teeth on this forum including myself.Seems like yesterday when other Sovereign users here were telling me to give the Sovereign a little more time before you move to another detector. Thanks Ron

It will only get better. We have really good people here. Always something to learn from everyone's experiences. I can't help but come here everyday and read something !! New or old. It's been and continues to be the best place.

We all survived 2014 and looking forward to 2015 and the finds it will produce. I bet many of us in areas up north are having cabin fever and watching with forecast and wondering when we can get out.
I sure plan to get out more in 2015, but said that when 2014 started and got less than I did in 2013. I also got to take that Sovereign GT out instead of my CTX 3030 as I know and enjoy the Sovereigns more because it is so simple to use and so accurate on IDing coins in with trash items.
The Find Treasure Forums are the best and the BBS forum is my favorite as we seem to have a better group of people willing to help one another.
Got to say thanks to you all in keeping it a great forum.

Thanks its always nice to get a pat on the back. There is a wealth of knowledge from people with a lot of years under their belts on here. Like you, i learn a lot..... most posts gets me thinking and always improves my hunting. Id like to also give a shout out to Joe. When it comes to the Xcal it seems hes done more than ML to bring it to a better place. I hope everyone has a great 2015.

Now for some bad news....... the Xcal is going up AGAIN in price. Fisher is following suit with a 30% increase in price for the CZ21. My suggestion..... take a careful look at used. Even with repair costs id dare say you will come out ahead. Most repairs ive had done havent had to be repeated and for most of you when it comes to the Xcal you wont put in the hours i do to ever get to use the one year warranty. This will be a 50% increase over the past 4 years on the Xcal. Neither company has made a lot of improvements ..... in fact some like the older machines better. BUT..... nothings going down in price.... except maybe our pay checks.

Just a shout out to all the great folks on this forum. Love my GT and 3030. There is always someone out here that will answer questions. Thanks to everyone and I wish you all a very Happy New Year hope you all dig a lot of silver and gold!!!!

Hi, I'm more of a reader than poster (I wish that was because of all my finds, but alas because of the paucity of them), but I gotta agree with Ron, lots of advice, no attitude here. I got my Excal two years ago this month, I absolutely love the machine. I chest mount it, and can last all day at the beaches up here in Mass/NH/Maine. Only issue is I gotta get to the point where I can swap out the stock headphones, they get uncomfortable after a while. So thank you all for the help and advice, patience, and encouragement. Artie

Hey Artie can you hear the stripers swim past you while your in the water.??

Ron, not to hijack a thread, but three years after I got my first detector, I bought a boat. I kept it in the Parker River (in season, of course). This put my detectors on a shelf, for the most part, from 1993-2006. I got married, the Missus came with a little one, and I needed to get us a place to live. So now back to a hobby that isn't a drain on the family resources. I'm not sure that the fishing wouldn't be my first love hobby again, if I could afford it. My best striper was 25 1/2 pounds, best on the boats was a 301/4 pounder. I did come in second one summer at the bait stores contest, with a 13 pound bluefish. My friend who got me into the fishing, has a 25 foot GW in Salem Harbor, he said the striper fishing this year was worse than horrible, at least when I'm at the beach in the summer, and don't find anything, I still didn't spend much money, and still got to check out some bikini's. I love being at the beach, but prefer to do my fishing from a boat. Artie

Artie..... get a pair of GGA from Joe if hes still doing them. they come with the end cap..... its just a matter of unplugging them inside the tube and plugging the new ones on. 10 min. max time..... best money you will ever spend and half the price of having someone do it for you.

This forum was the reason for my buying my GT. What a good move on my part!! LOL. Lots of good advice and just plain good reading. 2014 was almost a year of NO detecting for me. Moved twice and finally ended up in Virginia. I lost my best detecting buddy as my beloved brother passed away in June. Well...Come on 2015 I'm ready.

Sorry for your lose. 2014 wasnt very kind to me either.....so i have no regrets to see it go. But then 2013 was like a years worth of Friday the 13s too. At my age id sure like to have a little less pressure and a lot more sunny relaxing days. Hopefully ill hit a buck list find this year and make it all good. VA...... not a bad place to do some relic hunting.

Artie welcome back sounds like you're doing very well.Jon 2014 lost some friends also and hope 2015 will be a better year. Thanks Ron

Many of us veteran Soverign users are lurkers.
We peek at the forum everyday to hear a tid bit of info that perhaps Minelab will bring back the Sovereign series.
I have been using the platform since the mid 90's.
The GT was the pinnacle of it and the machine to this day offers features and configurations that you cant get anywhere else.
I have had all the brands and all of their upper tier machines and still the Sovereign is at the front for me.

Lets hope 2015 brings some good Sovereign news or at least the technology repackaged and called something else.
I think there are many analog fans the warrant most manufactures to keep a few in their line up.
