Saw a post "elsewhere" that the back light on the F75 is always on.

Doesn't seem a great idea for battery life. Now you can pulse the LED's at a rate that invokes optical continuity in the human brain, and this can save a fair amount of power. But now you're possibly creating a nasty noise source as the current is gated on and off at a particular rate.

do you think they would release the machine if this was sucking down battery power? After all this time of getting it just right I think not.

Yes it's always on, but you don't even notice anything during the day, so it's not like a big bulb or something. Driven w. 4 AA batts it's still far better batt. life & lasts longer than say the typical 2 9-volts....
I still have all my bars after a week of lots of "playing"....that tells me batt drain is a non-issue.....
Seems to be alotta concern on this. I was wondering about it myself, but proof is in the pudding, my batts are lasting super long. Perhaps it even glows more at night? something else I can ask on...

to it in the background rather than light a bright light. Like I said, the batteries seem to last forever just like the T2, especially those of us accustomed to the 9 volt Fishers....
