Saw a new Fisher ad...kinda disappointed and concerned

I just saw a new Fisher ad in the current issue of Lost Treasures. What I saw was basically a Teknetics T2 and some Bounty Hunter-looking machine that said "FISHER" on them. Now I haven't posted on here in awhile so maybe this has already been addressed and I missed it. If so, please feel free to clue me in.

When I heard that First Texas bought Fisher I was worried that they'd use it as a way to move their junk more expeditiously (and make a few extra bucks) by slapping the Fisher name on it. I shouldn't really be so harsh as to say junk, I do own a Walmart QDII (Pioneer 202). It does what I'd expect of a machine at the price I paid for it (I got it for 20 bucks on clearance because it was a floor model). Is Fisher going to be allowed to continue building their great machines and to develop future models? Or is the ad I saw the shape of things to come...black and gold Bounty Hunters that say "Fisher" all over them?

Like I said, if this was addressed in previous posts that I missed I apologize in advance.....I'm just a bit alarmed by the ad I saw.

By the way, the CZ-5 that I bought used has done great for me. I've found 3 silver dimes (one Canadian) and a 1950 Canadian Silver Dollar with it. I find myself grabbing it instead of my Explorer recently.

I also saw a Fisher ad today in American Digger. It was for the F-75, which of course looks exactly like a T-2. It says that it will hold your last settings, and ignores electrical interference. Basically a T-2 that holds last settings and ignores electrical interference. An improvement on the T-2, but NOT a new Fisher. Not fooling me.

My point is that I don't see a Fisher in that ad (Lost Treasure Dec '06). I just see a Bounty Hunter and a T2 that now say "Fisher" on them. I also just got this month's W&ET and inside the back cover is another ad showing a T2 with Fisher stickers on it.

My question still stands.....Is Fisher going to still get to produce current machines and develop new ones INDEPENDENT of influence from First Texas?

The latest ads I've seen tell me "No".

Bottom line seems quite simple to me. You had but 2 choices here-

1) Fisher Research Labs folds up completely and you lose all the lifetime warrantys on the poor ergonomic black boxes on a stick we loved so much.
OR

2) Another company comes in to save the name, honors the warrantys, gets reunited with their old engineer, and tries to carry on and better a nice detector- a t-2.

-I take door number 2 all day long-

keep diggen
