the big structure was on a farm located on th main road that goes to Yosemite National Park. The owner decided to decorate it and as you can imagine it attracts a lot of attention...a few years ago a big wind ripped off the corrugated metal on the roof...a few weeks(?) later volunteers put it back together and probably gave it a new coat of paint. This particular building is HUGE...i want to say about 100ft long and 30-40 feet wide.

The other picture is a garage door decorate by the home owner....its has been that way a few years now...right smack in the middle of town...

Thought you might find it interesting....thanks to the other poster who gave me the idea.

By these structures, just taking it for granted. The owners took the time to show their Patriotism! I bet it cost a few bucks for the paint and materials!!
 Thanks for posting Detector Man!

I have never seen a complete building done this way. Thanks for sharing these pictures and story with the Forum. Kelley (Texas) :)

it cost real money for sure and as a matter of fact he probably did not need to reconstruct it when the wind demolished it.......thousands of people see the big barn daily ...it wont be long before devolpment takes over the area...id say 10yrs. there will be a some kinda of shopping center on that corner.......progress i guess.

this is not one of my pictures but rather a picture from the internet showing the barn with wind damage....im sure the damage was greater than what is shown.

that was very unusual to have that heavy a wind....in fact last night we had a good gust of wind that carried over today....some trees will possibly topple over but maybe not...

THings we get rarely of: lightning, rain, wind, snow, tornadoe(extra rare), earthquakes even....i know reputation we have of earthquakes but b ack in the 70s i felt the SF earthquake and since then i cant recall feeling another one....

The p;icture of the damage really does not show the real damage but yhou can get an idea by looking at the front door and seeing the sky thru the damaged roof.

Detector Man, I assume the barn is along Highway 120? I have never taken 120 fully from the Central Valley all the way up to Yosemite, so I have never seen the barn before. Thanks for the photos, and yes, those were some strong winds felt up and down the valley earlier this week. HH
