Awesome site, cool post, can you hunt that church site?? Even if you couldn't, it would be a cool place to stop and visit:thumbup:
 
...I would imagine they'd put you under the jail if you got caught digging there...but I'm sure, somewhere along the way, somebody has.

Hi Greg, and thanks to you both for a glimpse into the past of American history. I just soaked up the atmosphere of those church remains.
Ain't it strange how supposedly Christian armies found a 'legitimate' excuse to torch such a place.

I get the shivers whenever I'm standing in ruins from the past. It is as if the naked stonework still carries the aura of those dramatic happenings. Now, the present tranquil settings only serve to amplify the contrasting savagery of war. It is a mystery as to what it is that touches our senses so, but it feels very real. Saving history today, may one day save us from making the same mistakes tomorrow......MattR.UK.
