what do you do with the coins that you find? i have saved all my pre 1965 coins. if you sell them what is the best way?coin store,e-bay????
thanks

I sell the ones I don't want to a local dealer who I feel is very honest. eBay has costs involved for posting items and photos. Plus you have the time involved waiting for the auction to run its course. eBay will net you a better price, but the local dealer would be faster and with no additional cost to you. I know alot of people like to send stuff to a place called Mid-west Refiners, I believe.

Must be a he** of a big cigar box!!!!!

I've sold a fair number of silver coins to a dealer that buys non-collectible coins for the silver value. I'd recommend checking a coin book for key dates and keepers before selling anything in bulk of for the silver value though. Ebay does have the listing costs and is a gamble in the sense that you may or may not get a bid in the range of the value of what you list for sale. My two bits.

I would tend to want to save all silver for a large spike in price. Silver can and does spike a lot more than gold. (So many detectors were sold back in the "Hunt Brother" days and even though that kind of run up is unlikely, substantial spikes are happening.

I just sold a few coins to a guy from Craigslist. He told me that he would like to buy more if I find any. So get on Craigslist.

Put up an add at work

No standard size cigar box,but built more stouter.I am a live in health care provider and i don't get out as much or as long as most THer's.So my amount of finds is smaller

The newer clad is saved and turned in at the end of the year and we buy something we normally wouldn't spend our money on, but would like to have, or take vacations with it. One time we even put a down payment on a small yacht with it. That was when we went detecting days upon days and hit a lot of school yards and ball fields. HH, Nancy

I have a friend that cashes his in every year, around 600 to 900 dollars, old or new and takes a vacation with it. I still have most of mine. Thinking one day I'll turn it in for a new V-3 or GMT.. Maybe by next year.. But my finds are around 200 to 350 dollars. I don't get out as much as my friend does..

I'm glad they :detecting: left a few silver coins for us to find back when they were using those detectors when silver spiked back in the 70's. Again.....HH, Nancy
