Saturday's Hunt

Today was another geat day of detecting, actually every day detecting is a graet day. Me and Jerry the Whites dealer from Cadillac who has now become a very good friend spent the day detecting. I had a total of 90 coins all clad except for 4 wheaties and 1 old canadian penny. Jerry found 1 IH and a steel wheatie and a pouch full of clad. I like the vision more every time I take it out, I dug another wheatie today that was heavily masked by a nail, old rusty bolt and 2 pieces of a zinc lid. I cant wait to see what this detector will do when I really get to know it, learning more every time out. Looks like I might be out of luck for the next few days because of the weather, more snow:thumbdown: Hope not, but will get back out when i can. HH.

Ninety coins is a busy day, congrats. I don't know if I will get tomorrow either. We also have some snow showers forecast for tonight as well, right here in Central IL. Heck, we had 8 inches just last weekend.

Hello Ron...90 coins, impressive. Could you post your settings that you used...Also, what type of soil were you hunting on? Sand, dirt? Thanks Jim

Hi Jim, I hunted 3 different spots saturday, Mcfail fields which has baseball diamonds and soccer fields, the ground there was black wet and heavy with clay about 3 to 4 inches down, a school playground near by which was the same. The last place I hunted was another school and playground about 10 miles away. The ground there was sandier and much easier digging. As far as settings I have been running mainly the coins program with with the Rx and Sens. turned up, usually 9-12 on the Rx. and 85-90 on the Sens. each site varies, I adjust until it is nice and stable. I have ran coin and jewelry some but mainly coins program, I have used deep silver and mixed mode pro very little. Once I get all the clad and shallow coins out of the areas im hunting Im going back to try the different programs and pull some deeper coins. I have been using the vision for 2 weeks now and i must say i am impressd with the machine so far.
