I hit the 1849 home site again last Saturday. Still only the one Merrill carbine bullet to indicate any CW activity in the area, even though it is confirmed that the house was used as a hospital. This weekends notable finds include TWO Shell's Mr. President coin game aluminum tokens from 1968, a Mermaid Sponge / AMSCO Chamois heads / tails spinner coin "since 1869" I don't actually know the date of minting, a .308 diameter 170 GN FMJ bullet fired from a 4 groove barrel, and the ever present WATSIT... What can I say, it is brass or copper, .2050" thick and odd shaped, probably a piece of something larger. Oh, and two aprons full of canfetti and other junk. We have all seen junk, I left it in the dumpster at the site after giving it a good once over... HH Joe
