Saturdays hunt.

Well, it was not that good of a hunt yesterday as far as finds go, but my buddy Lee and I did get out and that is what really counts. I suggested hitting this little park it the Seattle area that I'm sure has been pounded to death by the Seattle and Tacoma boys. Started out real slow with just getting some clad, but no real keepers. I then got a pretty good signal and about six inches down I pulled out this token about the size of a silver dollar.:clapping: I wasn't sure what it was at first, but after I wiped some of the dirt off I read the date 1909.:wiggle: It turns out to be a 1909 Seattle Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition token that was held on the grounds of the University of Washington. I was going to fill in my hole, but decided to check the hole once more and I got another signal off to one side. Turned out to be a well worn 1916 merc and I was:jump: to say the least. Turned it over and no mint mark. Got a couple of wheaties and that was about it. Lee got wheaties, but no silver. The park started to get busy with people and their dogs so we decided to find another spot. Found another neighborhood park and hunted for a couple of hours and only a couple more wheaties to show for our efforts. All in all it was a nice day to be out hunting with a buddy and getting our detecting in before the really cold weather hits. Thanks for looking and HH to you all.

Glad you two got out as the weather was really nice for a change of scenery other than the massive rainfall we've had lately. That is one neat token you found and I'm sure the heart did a little pitter patter on the 16 looking for the big D. Nice finds and congratulations. HH John

Good to see you found a few more Keepers before we are all stuck inside for the winter. Congrats on getting a piece of Silver and that really neat Old Token. Hope you get out yet again and make a few more finds. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

Thanks James. Not as productive as I would have liked, but a beautiful day for detecting and as we all know the cold weather is upon us. Hope you get out some more also buddy before the snow hits and the ground is like cement. HH.

hunting with a friend...and even more rewarding when you can pull even one more keeper from a pounded place. That exposition token is SWEET. Congrats on your finds...and I hope you...me...and ALL of us can squeeze in another hunt before the snow comes our way:surrender: Take care buddy...and nice huntin'

Thanks Bryce. Tokens are pretty cool to find and I'm glad I found this one before mother nature did her number on it. It's stuff like this that makes me proud to be a detectorist knowing that I'm doing my part to retrieve cool stuff from this good earth so I can share them with other people. Hope the weather holds for you back there as well and good luck when you get out again. HH.

Eddie, the token is a nice piece of history. Always great to get out for a hunt,A mint mark on the dime would have made it a very nice day. HH Ron

Ya, tokens like that are pretty neat when they are related to world's fairs. That D mint mark that was missing on my 1916 merc would have really made my day if only it had been there, but it's another silver coin added to my collection. HH.
