Headed back out again by myself as my bud could not go so, I went back to the large property that yielded me the center holed Indian and some other oldies last week or so.
I spent about 1 hour talking old military stuff with the owner and then set off around the property.
My first decent keeper dig was a Silver Roosie but, when I dug it I would have guessed at its depth to be a Merc but it was not to be.
I dug some more wheat's. I then headed over to where the would have walked to the bank barn and got what sounded like a deep old copper.
I dug down and scratched my head as i saw what appeared to be a giant marble and it was not until I got it out of the whole it was an old marble doorknob ( I reckon its marble. It is heavy and stone).
Nothing like getting old coins from a historic home and part of it to boot LOL.
My next good coin for the day by far and away was a full liberty 1872 Seated Dime and this one at its depth would have guessed to be a Merc so it was a surprise indeed. Wow if only it had a CC on the back.
Before I left i was going to give the knob to the owner so he can add it to his little metal miniature ornate teacup I gave him last time but, they had left.
Well I will be back so, I will pass it along to them then. It is nice and pretty but, doorknobs are not my thing.
Here are today's digs along with the total finds minus the junk of course.
