Saturday's Hunt: WWII Production Award Lapel Pin

The weather wasn't too bad and I had treasure on the mind, so off I went. first stop, I dug 2 very nice Rosie's planted well into the junk along with 5 wheat's. The second stop only had 1 good target and a wheat, but it was a very cool one.... A WW II Army-Navy Production Award Lapel Pin. I don't know the History of these things, but the word production has something to do with it I'm sure. It's not marked, but it's Sterling according to what I've seen on the Web and the way it rang up. here are a few pics, Thanks for looking, DirtDiga

I found one of those a couple of years ago and the research I did at the time also said it was sterling. There is one distinct difference. Yours apparently had a steel pin on the back; mine was silver. Maybe that depended on who manufactured it? Congrats on the find.

Now that's different. Congratulations on the finds and thaks for the story and the pictures.

Awesome find! What a great piece of history! I dug one a couple of years ago that didnt't have any of the paint left on it and just said sterling on the back.
