Hey everyone, was able to get out yesterday with my buddy to a farm that has treated us well over the last few years. We got out of the truck and geared up next to the old barn. This area is littered with iron everywhere. Normally we just walk into the field but we started swinging here and I'm glad we did. My first 2 digs ended up being a piece of trash and a Reed and Barton stainless fork. I walked about 3 feet away from the foundation to the barn and got a very jumpy signal. It was ringing up high and low, it sounded like multiple nails, but I was able to isolate a good high pitch screamer in there. I dug a plug and found the top to a rusty nail, I stuck the pro pointer back in and recovered a full nail. The pro pointer said there was nothing else in the hole. I stood up and took one swing over the plug and got a screaming 84 - 85 signal. I loosened some of the dirt and was rewarded with a really worn and tarnished 1886 seated dime! I couldn't believe I just pulled this out of an area full of iron. You cant even do a full 3ft swing without getting 20 - 30 grunts. Amazing! My buddy and I ventured off into the field and he started finding a few Wheaties, then he got a nice 80 - 81 signal at 5". He dug down and retrieved a nice sterling silver belt buckle. Its small and very ornate. About an hour later and nothing else to show for our efforts, we decided to call it a day.

HH!

I know finding that 1886 Seated Dime made your day. Very nice!

They sure are hard to find! I've only found 4 in 12 years of hunting. 2 of them this year! You'll find one soon enough!
