Saturday's Finds

Well I went back to the same place I went to yesterday. Only stayed for about three hours. Found six Wheats, a 1942 Mercury dime, two memorials and a clad Quarter. Star of the day was a 1787 Draped Bust Copper, facing left. Was a good day for sure. This place is about an hours drive from my house but well worth it. Going back next weekend, hopefully taking a buddy of mine with me. Still alot of ground to cover. BTW that Merc dime is the 6th silver i've found with my new Explorer Se Pro,also found a silver necklass with pendant. The Copper is my oldest find to date, so far.

Good Finds, surfman !

I feel like i'm on a roll. Made a great move to the Explorer.

YES ! I love this machine !!!!!!!!! It used to take me a long time to find 10 silvers, have done it in just over 3 weeks, 12 hunts of 2 or 3 hours each.

Nice finds !

Now I'm starting to get depressed.....everyone is winning the lottery and I'm looking at frozen ground.

Is your ground still froze Dave ? Man, thats gotta suck. Hope it thaws out soon for you. Looking forward to seeing your finds.

That`s a drag, McDave, the weather here went from cold cold to warm and warmer, dry and drier ! If it doesn`t rain soon , not going to able to dig !

Yeah, well I guess that's the price I pay for living up here. About the best I can do with a high temp of 45 is test out the Explorer in my driveway, which is actually thawing faster than anything else. Still have lows in the teens at night so everything freezes up again. Supposed to only have a high temp of 29 by wednesday. Ugh...I'm going to kill someone really soon...lol !

Sorry man, hi 70's yesterday and sunny. In the low 60's and sunny here today. Even got sunburn on the back of my neck and arms. Dropping into the 40's at night. Got yard work to do but I just might try to get out tommorrow after church. Got a few local spots I can have a go at.

Real nice recoveries.

Nice hunt! Is there any way you could post a close up of the Copper? I think those are SO COOL!

your not alone dave been nice days here in northern vt but got nights good for the maple sugar but grounds still frozen and fair amount of snow left

I would love to get a close up of the copper and will try. The camera I use just wont focus real good on close up, even in the close up mode. I want the camera that McDave is using. Dave, how close to those coins was the camera when you photographed them in that camare thread ? I've been using the Kodak EasyShare C813. But like I said it just wont focus real close. I think this is as good as I can do. Hope you can see them good. Thanks guys. Joe.

WOW! very cool. Just to say "1787" makes my mind spin with the thought of what was happening then and how much has changed. I guess we have a lot in common now with them, so much is uncertain regarding the future of our country. Thanks for sharing.
