It was a button day! I got 12 1/2 buttons,1 1923 Buffalo nickel, 2 thimbles,1 old saddle strirrup,part of an old skeleton key,and 1 old lock. Not much but it was a great day to detect.H/H JOE
 
hey joe, that was some soybean field. here,s my ring that i found that day. thought it was silver, but after cleaning it, i discovered it was a 1918 wheat penny.bummer,,no silver!

Was it silver plated? Sure did look silver in the field.

I can't believe with all the colonial coins dug, niether of us got any! Just wasn't our day. I ended up with 2 memorial cents, 5 or 6 flat buttons, 3 brass buckles and some intersting period brass. Nothing special. <img src="/metal/html/cry.gif" border=0 width=40 height=15 alt=":cry">
