Saturday stuff from DIV V

.... Was very frustrating today. The ground is so bad that nails sound like good targets and good targets sound like iffy or bad targets.

What was so frustrating was that some of the diggers are too darn lazy to pick up and carry off their trash targets ... they left it in the bottom of their re-filled hole or laying on top of the ground beside it .... this is just not fair or right for the landowner nor fellow hunters.

The majority of us did haul all the old iron we found back for proper disposal. At the HQ tent, there were at least 6 to 8 five gallon paint buckets FULL of dug trash ... and most of us take our trash back to the car to be thrown away at the hotel dumpster or other dumpster near by so the HQ tent trash is just stuff thrown away that was found before lunch.

My finds today were meager compared to yesterday although two of them were really nice.

The big "thingy" is a hammer lock assembly likely from a Springfield rifle. It's at half cocked position.

The second button from the left is an Eagle cuff or hat (kepi?) button. The loop is still on the back. The first and third are just flat buttons ... CW or Colonial period. The one on the right is the back of a staff coat button. The loop is still on it and the makers name will be readable once cleaned. Thanks for looking.
