Bubblehead and I left his house yesterday morning. It was a cool 40 degree's. We were heading to the Old Asheville Speedway which is now a Beautiful Park and Bike Track. We wanted to get there early because we new that the weather would be nice and everyone would be outside as the day progressed. We drove into the parking lot to find a few cars there which was excellent for us. We got our gear and went into the park. I am new to detecting so I was expecting to find a few coins and nothing much beside some junk. Bubblehead was hitting coins as he was walking around. I was scanning the Volleyball courts. No luck just trash. The time was passing by so I moved to the grass outside the volleyball courts and I started to find coins.Just the nickle, dime, quarter, and pennies. Then the first find that really meant something to me. I called Bubblehead over to help me. I was having a hard time with my pocket detector try to find what I had uncovered. He use his pocket detector and we found the prize. A 1905 Indian Head Penny. It was awesome and a surprise to me. My first find that meant something. I got the bug now and I could not have had an experience like that without the help of my long time friend "Bubblehead" who got me started. Thanks Tom for all you have done for me to get me started and I hope one day we will find the Mother-Load.

A find like that will get you hooked Jim. That's a great find. My first old coin was an Indian Head also. Found it right in my back yard. Old money for me is what it is all about.:detecting:
