Hi all !! Today in eastern Pa. the weather was sunny and the temps were near 50 degrees. I decided to put the 8 inch DD coil from my Explorer II
on the E-Trac and hunt a wooded area very thick with stickers and briar. I was running the Andy S program with the detector set for Multi-tone Conductive.
I found the 1941 Quarter about an hour into the hunt and not much else to show for 2 hrs of bushwhacking. After lunch, I switched back to the 11 inch coil,
moved to a another wooded area and set the detector in TTF (I love that setting!) The first find was an early date wheaty and then 4 more in the next half hour.
The soil was moist and because of the moderate temps here nothing was frozen. A 1904 Indian came to light and shortly after that the E-Trac sent a beautiful, sweet
12-46 signal through @ 6 inches. Very carefully digging to a depth of around 6 inches I scanned the hole with my Garrett Pro pointer and digging just a little deeper I saw the
reeded edge of a silver quarter. What a sight to see!! A beautiful Barber quarter saw the light of day after so long in the ground. What a great pastime this is!
Hope you all can get out there soon and start swingin'.
