Last week I decided to send my AT-Pro back to Garrett to be fixed. It would not save settings in custom mode when shut off, nor did performing a factory reset actually reset anything. I called them up and the rep said almost immediately to send it back and that there had been several software fixes since it had been manufactured. I am a little miffed at the dealer who I bought it from who said it had only been in his shop for a week. It looks like it is a much older model. So I went out a few times with my reliable 2500 this weekend and found mostly clad including yet another $1 coin from yesterday:

A quickie for you guys who don't use rechargeables. I have been using Energizers in my AT-Pro. I was in Walmart and saw a pack of Energizer batteries that had a small coupon that read $10 reward with purchase of 3. I bought an 8 pack of AAs and a pack of 3 9Vs. I came home and checked out the reward. It's a choice between a $10 Paypal credit or a $10 Mastercard gift card. I went out and bought another pack of AAs and applied for my reward. The three packs of batteries only cost 7 bucks after the reward. Not bad. I think you can do it four times too. (I use rechargeables in my 2500, BTW.)
Some things I was reminded about using my 2500. It is such an excellent pin-pointer and is much quieter than the AT-Pro. Almost never falses unless the soil is very mineralized. Imaging is the best!

I still find it amusing that certain legitimate treasure hunting words are not accepted by the spell checker on a site devoted to treasure hunting.
