Saturday Hunt

Back to my gold coin site. Slow going to start. Hot and humid. I reckon they passed out the cigarettes kill pencils on the last day of school. So about 10 minutes after I pick up the pencil I find the 925 ring. Can I say I got cancer? Smoking led to cancer? I was going to make "I got cancer" the title of this post but figured I shouldn't. Before anybody says anything. I had cancer when I was 33. The surgeon went in to remove the tumor and sewed me back up without removing anything because the tumor had grown into my lungs and heart etc..... The next day I was told to get my affairs in order because my time on Earth was limited. Thankfully Dr. Choudary (head of neurology) took an interest in my case and told me he would personally operate and that my chances 60/40. He removed a 4.4 kg tumor and my right kidney. Six months after that I was pronounced fully recovered with no trace of cancer. I stupidly went back to smoking 10 years later, albeit briefly, and quit again last Fall when I got my 2500.

Back to metal detecting. I also include a photo of all my clad. Hit 11,000 coins today. 194 coins from 2007 total.

For my Canadian brothers. That Canadian dime is my second of the year. What a jumpy signal. My sympathies. Modern Canadian coins are a bitch.

Canadian dime likely has steel in it .Try a magnet on it. Looks like you dodged the bullet by getting the operation. You just had lot more :detecting: to do. Lots of clad and a nice ring.

Probably one of the best things I ever did. I am healthier, sleep better, have saved thousands of dollars and am now addicted to metal detecting  What a great trade off

And nice finds too! I am just headed out the door to work some more schools. Will post my finds later.......

Cigarettes are nasty little things. Just writing about them makes me want to smoke. I had quit for about 8 years and then one day I slipped and had one and a few weeks later I was back on them full time. I smoked again for about 7 months and put them down again in early October last year.

I'm sure glad I haven't gotten addicted to metal detecting or it would probably consume me too. Yeah sure. I'm thinking seriously about a hunt later tonight if it cools down any. It's still over 80 and humid as hell.

Glad to hear you ran into that doctor and he whacked that killer out of your body. Too many doctors give up to easily and all they know is cut, burn, or poison, for treatment.

I never hear of cancer patients being sent for proton radiation therapy - a real sure-fire cancer killer. There are only two places in the U.S. where it is available - Loma Linda University in California and Johns Hopkins in Maryland. The reason everyone doesn't have one is the $85 million price tag but this gizmo zeroes in on the cancer and zaps it into oblivion without harming any surrounding tissue. It is specifically designed for those inoperable brain and lung tumors and others that can't be touched by conventional methods. Bear this in mind in the future if yours should return or you know someone with an alleged inoperable, incurable, cancer.
