Saturday Finds...

Robin (MI)

New member
My hunting buddy Dan and I hit a couple fields Saturday. The first one was unusually quiet but Dan pulled out a nice button and other assorted relics - I found one small button. The next field was unusually trashy. I found a token (both sides shown) right off the bat then we only found a few nice buttons and relics, Dan found a thimble. Then we hit a small County beach close by. Am I lucky or what... pulled out the Walker! That is my second half this year and I found the first last weekend, go figure. It was a fun day with a good friend.

Anybody have a token book to look this one up for me? The token reads: Albion Commercial College Ira Mayhew Pres't, Albion, Mich. (other side) Mayhew's Practical Book-Keeping 1863, The Cheapest And The Best.

Thanks and HH - Robin

Robin,
Nice finds! You always find nice stuff. Keep it up!
In Rulau's 2nd edition (1997) of United States Tokens, it's listed as:

CWT 25A-1a
Rarity: R3 (500 to 1999)
Metal: Copper
Edge: Plain
Prices: VG $4 / VF $6 / EF $8 / Unc $15

Also, congrats on your 2nd half! They are always fun to find. Last year I found an unbelievable 8 halves. 1 seated, 4 walkers, 1 franklin and 2 kennedy's (clad). This year...not even one. Most years you're lucky if you find one or two halves.

Cheers!
