Saturday at the Beach

I thought that the appropriate title would be "Lost-Found-Lost again.

I went to the beach early Saturday morning before the crowds started arriving and got in a little sand fishing time with my Excal. Only place on the beach that I was finding anything was the towel line.

Within the first hour I found a small yellow ring. My ancient eyes will not let me see a hallmark and as Usual I forgot to take a magnifying glass. Dug something over four dollars in clad. A host of lincolns and zincolns. Got the usual bag of junk like keys, pull tabs etc.

Got home and magnification revealed that the hallmark was Avery .585. Only 3.6 grams of 14k but I certainly enjoyed the find.

Showed the ring to my wife and she put it on her finger. Said something about our anniversary coming up in a few days (Number 51) and the ring was no longer mine. She did let me borrow it long enough to take the picture.

So Someone Lost it. I found it. Then I lost it again. Oh well a Happy Wife is worth far more than the $80.00 worth of scrap gold.

Been there, done that! Nice ring and even though it was light, gold is gold!! You'll get the pleasure of seeing it on your wife's finger from now on!! That was a good choice:thumbup:

My wife is still waiting for her nice ring. I have found big and small, but nothing that fits her... sure would make it easy if her ring would pop up sometime soon!

Excellent find there, Geo! Good trade too! Congratulations on both of those fine catches you have made! :clapping::please:

If she likes a ring you could always have it re-sized for her.

Pete Don't go giving my wife any ideas. LOL. This is the first one that has struck her fancy. Since I know which side of my bread gets the butter (And Jelly) I did not object to her keeping the ring.

Yo George, I think we are all in the same boat (with the possible exception of Nancy and Larry who seem to share the same psychological pathology). LOL! I haven't found a ring yet, but when/if I do, I will consider it a small price to offer it up to the sacrificial altar domestic tranquility.

Right now my GF thinks MDing is the nerdiest thing ever, but if putting some bling in her jewelry box helps to bring her around then I'm all for it!
