Went to the bar I work at early to drop off a pool sheet and ran into a guy who got a metal detector for Christmas who is cleaning while the regular girl is on vacation. He watched me do some easements that I had never searched before. First two pics. Wheat penny and silver dime. A bunch of coins and other cool digs. Yippee! He wanted to go out and he had an idea for a spot. It once hosted a very large outdoor music concert that attracted about 300,000 people. Got it? It actually a pathway to the event and is now a hayfield and sled hill. He was not having an easy time using his new Bounty Hunter so I found a few targets and then he scanned them for practice. He scored a 10kt gold ring in less than an hour. I was pretty jealous! Not really. His brother joined us with a Whites DFX (I think) and found a silver dime. Each of them found about 15 modern coins and and equal number of junk targets. Their recovery times were pretty long. I dug 76 coins and the peace medallion (Way COOL!) Czech Coin (Way Communist!) another Wheat and about 100 junk targets. The peace medallion is very neat considering it was probably lost by some nearly naked hippie. I surpassed 1000 coins for the year and forgot to save that find for my book. Actually I didn't think I'd make it to that goal today. First coin next hunt is 1025. It will have to do.
