The air is getting chilly up here in Central NY....The temp as I type this at 12:40am is 47 degrees F. It was not a great day of hunting, but not a bad day either...I met up with a buddy and we hunted the same park I pulled a 1947 Merc out of 2 weeks ago. No such luck today...only one 1957 Wheat, and plenty of clad. Other older coins were 1963, 64x2 Cents, 1967 Quarterx2, 1965, 66, and 68 Dimes, 1971 Nickel...The rain came overnight and into the morning...it was a light drizzle most of the night. The ground was moist, but not too muddy. Clad total was $3.58...Also found a Disney Enchanted Kingdom rolled penny, and a Rabies Vaccination tag. Also went over $100 for the year...If the Summer was not so hot, might be over $200 by now...

HH,

WTG DiggerO exceeding $100.00 for the year, that's allot of digging.

Bound to be another silver coin at this particular park you and your buddy hunted, the 1957 wheatie you snagged yesterday is a good indicater more silver is in there.

I see you use the 8" coil, that's the coil I perfer on my CZ seems like the perfect coil.

Congrats!

I use it 90% of the time, and most of my time is beach hunting. Got the 10.5 inch coil and Sunray FZ12, but the 8 inch coil just does the best for me.

I hear the 10.5 inch is not really any deeper, but just covers more ground, and is a bit harder to pinpoint with...I also have the 5", and use it when the trash gets too heavy, and in tot lots.

HH,

8 Inch stock is my coil of choice....10.5 too darn heavy but never had any problem pinpointing with it...5 inch hockey puck excells in trashy areas but coverage suffers...
8 is just my personal preference but many excell with either the smaller or larger coil depending on the conditions...

Hello John,

Good to see you're a CZ fan, can't blame you one yeck of a detector.

Some brands do well with an 8" coil Fisher being one of them, the coils are well built and do well wading in water overall a great combo the CZ & 8" coil.

Looking forward to chatting with you in the future.

I always thought the 8'' coil was the perfect size coil. It gets decent depth and coverage and good seperation in the trash. I even use a Sunray x-8 most the time on my E-trac for these very reasons.
