As I write this I have to chuckle because it was just last week I thought my mxt was broken.I came on here and asked a few questions and after reading the answers I realized where I was hunting was right along side of electric train tracks.Live and learn.
I went to a local park today and found this 7 stone saphire ring . It is a beauty, and looks to be an old setting. I am sure the stones are real because they are of different shades when you closely look at them.
vdi=12 depth=7 0 disc +1 gain c/j mode.
All was not good though. My automax broke. The second 1 in a year. Will have to call JW at kellyco and see if it can be replaced with something different.
Happy Hunting

and you got a good VDI at 7", way to go.
I hope your luck continues,
Neil

Any markings in that band? If Saphires then should be a gold band to boot!

Took it to an estate appraiser today. He told me it is probably made from 1900 to 1920, it is Italian, 18k and genuine saphires. He was willing to give me $400 for it. Think I'll hang on to it. lol
Happy hunting

Hey Slapshot, being you're considering a replacement for your 2nd broken Automax. Be firm with JW, consider working out a deal to get a VIBRA-PROBE 560, you may have to add some cash. But, it is WATERPROOF TO 30ft., very well made by a very good company to deal with in California, retail for $109, but you can purchase one from Clevenger's Detectors in St.Louis, Missouri for $95, free shipping. Play hardball with JW, because of all the inconvenience with broken Automax. Also, VIBRA-PROBE 560 gets a good inche on a coin. I personally don't know what Automax gets. Anyway, LOL/HH.
