Santa visited me early today................Guess what I got?...........

Gulf Hunter

Active member
Since Gulf Hunter does not like cold water, I needed something to keep me warm, but still be able to head for the deep mine areas. Waders have too many limitations. Our surf temperature is 66 degrees. Probably balmy for you yanks, but this reb don't like cold water in my wetsuit at 4 AM, ya know. Wetsuits OK in 60-70 degree weather, with the sun shinin', but it's winter time down here. Got something that'll keep me warm as sittin' on the recliner, by the fire place. Pics comin', when the Huntress gits around to sizin' 'em up ya know! GH

Nice choice. I've got a Kokotat that i used for catamaran racing and it's a great suit. Mine has been through some pretty harsh treatment and the only thing I've ever had to do was replace the seals.Keep baby powder on 'em and it will extend their life as well as help you get your head through.

The suit comes from NRS. Max recommended that I contact these folks. It is a kayaking drysuit, as opposed to diving and MUCH cheaper. The model is the Kokatat Tropos Swift Entry and I also purchased the Hydroskin socks for my bootys and a Wavelite Union Suit to wear underneath the suit. The union suit is designed to help wick moisture away from your body to keep you dry. We shall see. I think it will be killer after I let the air out of it. I wish that I had purchased 1 with a relief zipper, but OH well. Guess I'll just have to wing it! The cost you say? $471.95 to the door. How many gold rings to cover this expense, HMMMMM? Their phone number is 800-635-5202 or on the web at www.nrsweb.com, check 'em out if you like to go deep, but want to stay dry fer yer loot!
