I was pleasantly surprised when I received for Christmas a slightly used but not abused f70 with 2 coils! It has the stock 9 3/4 coil and the 11" DD coil. Are there any members who have experience with this machine that would kindly share any tips, insights or comments about their use of this model? HH Ed in co.

Congratulations! :clapping: You have some mighty support here! There were very few good infield videos when we all got ours 3 years ago...Several of the guys have done some nice ones like witdwiz's...Funny thing is, we all hunt different styles and settings. It is great on the snow hills if you think you want to give it a try this winter, you can set 55 sens, -3 thresh, 1 disc, DE mode, DP tones and give that a go...with the 11"dd. Since you are running over snow, you dont have to ground balance, and you dont have to run hot sens either...these are my "go to" settings for just about everything totlottish, trash parky, or snowhilly. ..If your snow is deeper than mine, and it probably is, go ahead and run hotter. I use a pick like what witdwiz used in his video on the snow it works great! I also pull a plastic grocery bag over the coil and tie it off to the shaft to keep the snow from balling up on it. If the thing starts to chatter or go nuts near the power equipment at the bottom of the hill, press the HZ button, I think the TONES setting is where we all have a personal preference, and on the 70, you have plenty to choose from! It will save your settings, so you can go in the dark and just turn it on an sweep without fooling around. Real nice present there!

Thanks guys for the replies Today was 11 degrees below but warmed up to 18! Took the new toy with me just in case and got to use it for two short hunts in two school tot lots that I have worked before. Used sens 75 threshold -4, tones 4h, speed dl. First lot had about 4" of crusty snow over ground rubber. Spent 45 Min's there and got a $1.00 presidential coin the first signal! after that 9 quarters, 5 dimes, 1 nickel, and 5 pennies, a small silver concho and a copper ring with a $ sign on it. The pennies hit 65 the dimes 75 and if the machine said 86 you could count on it being a quarter! The nickels hit at 35 to 36, but so did the pop tabs and foil. After the first one I noticed that just like the tracker IV, the junk targets in this range had a little chip or scratch sound right at the end of the signal but the nickels were a clean sound. Dug a few scratchers to verify and was able to pass or dig by sound after that. The second lot only got hunted for thirty minutes as it was getting towards sundown and cold! It produced5 quarters, 2 dimes 2 nickels, and 14 pennies. Total for 1hr and 15 Min's 44 coins for $5.14. I did notice that this f70 seems to really like quarters! It even gave a strong solid and repeatable tone on a quarter that was on edge in the ground rubber at 5 inches! HH Ed in co.

Great post! Lots of useful info in there! Yep, it sure does love Q's and also the D's and copper pennys..I thought it was just my ears hearing those signals better...that 1 $ coin on the first signal was a good sign you two should get along great together!:clapping:
