Santa Fe area hunting?

Will be heading to Santa Fe next week and wondering if Santa Fe area is a good place to detect. Gotta believe with all the history and Santa Fe trail location there would be a few goodies to be found...
 
you're best bet is to go up by the Espanola area to do that.... there is a lot more hunting to do up there.... it is a about 20 miles west of Santa Fe.... there are not that many park areas in Santa Fe and stay out of the areas on the way to the ski area north of Santa Fe because i believe that it is part of the national forest
