SAND SHARK OR TIGER SHARK

I live in Florida and will be mainly hunting on beaches here, I would like to know which detector sand shark or tiger shark would be better for beach detecting only. I currently own a vaquero and am very pleased with the unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The Tiger Shark is a waterproof, single frequency, VLF detector, so it's performance in the wet salt sand is going to be pretty poor, even if you run in Salt Mode.

The Sand Shark is a pulse induction detector, which works perfectly in dry sand, wet sand, and surf. It gets incredible depth.

The downside? PI detectors have no discrimination, so you will dig every piece of metal out there, from gold to chunks of iron rust. The ratio of trash to treasure is pretty high, but you will miss nothing.

As there is less trash in the wet sand/surf, I'd suggest using the Vaquero for the dry sand and the Sand Shakr for the wet/surf. That would make an incredibly good combination.

I have the Tiger Shark and like it a lot, BUT I only hunt in fresh water as I'm 8 hours from the closes salt water. If I were in your shoes I'd do as advised and go for the Sand Shark.

if it's salt water then go with the sand shark with the 101/2" coil. it is so easy to use. i use the cibola with the csc on the dry sand.

Is there much weight difference between the sand Shark 8" coil and the 10.5". Is there a major difference in performance.
Thanks

Not to much more weight I use the 8" it is a little lighter I had a older sand shark with both coils 8 and 10.5 even then I used the 8 more with the shark in vco i couldn't tell much Different in the death but the 8 will go under steps and bench's better. all of the new models are hardwired so you have to get the 8 or 10. but you can still buy used ones with both coils for a good price.
