Sand Shark finds today....

I took off to a local swimming lake for about 4 hours and searched from knee deep to neck deep..too dang hot for beach hunting LOL!!
First target of the day was a nickel and the next target was a challenge coin that someone told me they found in the water and then lost it themselves.. I tried searching for it last Sunday, but was searching where I was told it was.. it was a little further away from where they told me it was.
I only had about 30 minutes before the swimmers overwhelmed me and then I had to zig zag around all of that.
Still, I found two silver rings, a Saint Christopher pendant, and a pretty good clad count.
Earrings found turned out to be junk.
Found quite a few bobbie pins today too, but I didn't mind it too much.. gave me some more practice in recovering deep water targets... the magnet in my scoop sure helps keep those pesky things from falling through the holes.
Hope everyone had a great 4th!!!
Thanks for looking,
Felix

Hey, looks good! How do you like the SS in the freshwater? Does the junk overwhelm you or is it not that bad not having discrimination?

Nice finds. Water detecting has to be a lot cooler in all this Summer heat than detecting sports fields.

This is my first water detector so I can't make a comparison.
So far I am very impressed by its performance and balance.
As far as trash in fresh water, I knew what I was getting myself into and actually it is not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
Even on the beach around my area, there is not that much trash and the digging is easy too.
I like that all I have to do is turn it on and start searching.... no ground balancing or trying to figure out whether to dig or not.
Pictured is all the trash I found while searching yesterday.. I thought it was a pretty ratio between good and bad targets.
Only thing that gets me is trying to recover those hair pins... they keep slipping through the holes and I lose time on those, but a magnet in my scoop helps a great deal.
I don't pass them up though as I have found that some good targets sound like them sometimes.. don't want to chance passing up a good find.
Looking forward to using it in the saltwater later this year.

Nice finds Felix!. A great alternative to land hunting when it is pushing 100 degrees. - Jim
