Sand Shark Coils

What do you guys think of the new Sand Shark? What coils are you buying with the machine?

I have the 8" newer hardwired unit and i use the hipmount rod and coil is very light and easy to control even in the surf.

WHITES MXT PRO
MINELAB EXPLORER 2
TESORO SAND SHARK

I am buying another Sand Shark soon and it will have the 8" coil, just like my previous one. I think the balance is better, pinpointing is easier, and the depth is excellent.

Considering one myself but with the 10" coil...mostly for being able to cover more area....miles and miles of beach. Does it pinpoint as well as the 8"?

i've had mine for 5 years - never used the 8" coil.
why would you want to give up an extra 25% of detecting area by NOT using the 101/2" coil? it is very easy to pinpoint with the 101/2" coil. since they are now HARDWIRED get the 101/2" coil!!

I've had my Sand Shark for a few months now and absolutely love it. Originally I wanted the 8" but they only had 10.5", so I pulled the trigger on the larger coil and I'm sure glad I did. It Pinpoints great & is sensitive to thin gold. Plus why not have some extra depth if you have the option.

Were leak problems with the interchangeable coils the reason that they came out with the fixed coil models?

The manufacturer who was making our connectors stopped making them for us. We tried to get other manufacturers to build them but they didn't pass the pressure test.
