Sand scoop trouble

Hello,

With all the sand scoops/sifters out there, ranging from a $15 dollar plastic scoop one to a $280 Hercules scoop, its hard to choose one that is both high quality but at a low price too. That's where I need help. I am looking for a scoop/sifter that is is priced at below $100 dollars, but if there is a scoop that is a little more than $100 you highly recommend, tell me. I would prefer a long handled scoop, (2ft+), but I will settle for a hand scoop too. Also, if you beach detect, tell me what scoop or shovel you use.

Thank you! :detecting:

beach hunter ?
dry sand
wet / water

beach makeup...........what type of sand...........rocks.......etc

explorer forum................that rules out hand scoop altogether...........now if u run sensitivity around 10 or so........handscoop will probably be ok

let us know

100 bucks is tight going

Wet and dry sand, I wont be scooping anywhere rocky, and wont be submerging the scoop in water

What do you mean by
"explorer forum................that rules out hand scoop altogether...........now if u run sensitivity around 10 or so........handscoop will probably be ok"

because I know it isn't the Excalibur, but it is still adequate for beaches

Also, now no higher than $130

Thanks :detecting:

digging with hand scoop would kill most.........even damp or dry

but

since u say damp and dry..............u can get by with a much less of a scoop than most would normally use .............no water ever........wow

damp sand is the heavies of all and does not sift all that well with scoops with holes............wire mesh will work the best for damp and dry........problem is there are only a few nice models available.

joe demarco was a dealer for the "beachcomber" scoop.............it was heavy, but nice for what u will need, check out his banner here and look around.

hard to have just one scoop..........most have two, one for dry sand hunting and one for damp sand / water hunting.

take a spin around Reily's site and bill babbs also....look at the models they have........some have wire mesh ends.............keep in mind that whatever scoop u choose, U will need a bill on it to reach out into the damp zone.

dry sand stuff is not always that deep...............= cheaper detector and smaller scoop is all that is necessary.

with one heater for both locations, u need one scoop to aid in fast recovery and a good sturdy scoop to hold up under the D E E P targets u are going to dig in the damp sand........STURDY.....key word.
