I was at a sand bar yesterday and there were about 350 - 400 boats there.(Lots of bling) My question is what side of the sand bar is better to hunt? One side has a deep channel about 30' away and the other side gradually drops of into a deep channel about 300 yards away. During low tide there is a small island about 30'X 200' and at high tide there is about 2'-4' of water over this sand bar. when the tide comes in it comes in quick with a quick current and the same going out. This sand bar is only reachable by boat and is very close to an inlet. I walked the perimeter of the sand bar looking for any cuts or troughs and did not find any of significance.

Hunt where the people are/were in the water! I hunt a few areas like this in Michigan where the boats often raft together and I've actually done a bit of undercover work in the past. 
People tend to congregate in the same locations time after time, so I've spent the day walking or kayaking around, drinking a few beers and checking out the scenery. The whole time I'm posing as a normal partier, but in reality I'm marking locations with my handheld GPS so I can come back the next day for the loot!
