Sand Bar Day 3

Braved 10 MPH winds out of the NE and intermittent rain showers to get to the sand bar this afternoon. Took my driveway markers and layed out a search area about 100 feet long. Made one pass in which I got one clad quarter and all of a sudden I wasn't hearing anything. Waved my scoop across my coil and heard nothing. Checked all connections, turned machine off and back on, still nothing.

Detector wise it was just not a good day. BUT, the kayaking in the rain was actually kind of nice. The good news: I have a spare machine so will send this one back and use the spare - Monday I hope.

Thanks for the encouragement Mud! I've always tried to integrate exercise with MDing, mostly with a bike, and would encourage others to try it too. It's tough the first couple of weeks but it's amazing how fast your body gets in condition. The kayaking is getting easier and I'm looking forward to my next sandbar visit.

I got some good news this morning. When I sent my AT-Pro in for an upgrade in 2011, they extended my warranty for two more years. It was set to expire at the end of this month. So, although a crapped out detector was bad news, it's now going to be fixed under warranty and that is good news.
Thank you Garrett and God bless American manufacturers.
